The HP 8158B optical attenuator is available in two options. With option 001, the instrument is calibrated at 850 nm. With option 002, the instrument is calibrated at 1300 nm and 1550 nm. Because of the advanced optical system, including the lens design and coating, the attenuation can be easily corrected for othe wavelengths in the respective ranges by simple entry of the desired wavelength into the instrument memory. This enables you to match the attenuator exactly to the center wavelength of your source, thus ensuring reliable measurement results.

  • 60 dB attenuation range
  • 0.01 dB resolution and 0.04 dB repeatability
  • Correction of attenuation between 600 nm and 1200 nm for option 001, and between 1200 nm and 1650 nm for option 002

  • Applicable fiber type: all fiber types with NA <= 0.3
