NH Research 4760 High-Voltage DC Electronic Load
The NH Research 4760 Series High Voltage DC Electronic Load is a multi-function, air-cooled instrument for testing high-power DC sources and energy storage systems. Eight models are available with power ratings from 1 kW to 36 kW and current capacities to 1800 A in an operating voltage range of 7–600 V DC. The system uses accurate measurement instrumentation, dynamic load modeling, and a modular design that lends itself to automated test station as well as bench-top stand-alone installations.
Applied primarily to test power conversion equipment like DC power supplies, telecom rectifiers, and battery packs, the 4760 Series is designed for applications that require fast transient response and complex load profile generation. Macro-based programming of the instrument enables microsecond-level transient simulation of multi-pulse sequences, stepped responses, and variable slew rates. All macros can store a maximum of 100 steps, run directly from the load to minimize latency. The 7-inch touch-panel display groups controls into six tabs—Monitor, Control, Scope, Macro, Setup, and More—giving real-time data visualization, manual parameter adjustment, and waveform analysis.
The 4760 Series replaces external measurement hardware with precision internal measurements of voltage, current, power, and timing. Internal capture of dynamic parameters, including rise time, settle time, and overshoot, is available to increase testing productivity. Safety features such as programmable overvoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, and overpower limits with automatic shutdown and fault logging are provided. System modular expandability allows multiple units to be connected in parallel by the user, thereby expanding power and current capacity without the need for base system replacement.
Operating modes include constant current, voltage, resistance, and power with precision to 0.12% and resolution to 0.025%. The constant power mode rated output is 7 V to 120 V, with linearly decreasing current below 7 V. LAN, USB, and RS232 communication interfaces provide remote control via SCPI commands or third-party software. Physical design features rugged bus-bar connectors, 0–40°C operating temperature range, and variable fan speeds for minimizing noise. Other features are remote sense compensation, analog control inputs, and synchronization triggers for external equipment.
Designed to deliver reliability in the industrial world, the NH Research 4760 Series integrates high-performance load simulation, built-in diagnostic capabilities, and an expandable architecture to meet changing test requirements in the renewable energy, automotive, and aerospace sectors.
