The capability, accuracy, quality, and reliability have made the 436A Digital Power Meter one of the most widely used digital power meters throughout the industry. Versatility is provided with a frequency range of 100kHz to 18GHz at -70 dBm (100 pW) to +35 dBm (3 W), depending on the power sensor used. Accuracies are as follows. Watt mode: ??0.5% in ranges 1 through 4, ??1% in range 5 dBm mode: ??(0.02 dB +0.001 dB/??C) in ranges 1 through 4, ??(0.04 dB ??0.001 dB/??C) in range 5 dB (REL) mode: ??(0.02 dB ??0.001 dB/??C) in ranges 1 through 4, ??(0.04 dB ??0.001 dB/??C) in range 5. Response times (0 to 99% of reading): Range 1: lt;10 S, Range 2: lt;1 S, Ranges 3 through 5: lt;1 mS. Requires power sensor (sold separately).

The Agilent 436A power meter is a general-purpose digital power meter intended for manual and automatic radio-frequency (RF) and microwave-power measurements. It is compatible with the entire series of 8480 power sensors. The 436A measures either absolute or relative power. It displays absolute power in either watts or dBm, and relative power in dB. The 436A offers intuitive and straightforward manual operation as well as optional GPIB programmability (Option 022).
