Product Overview
The Ortho VITROS 3600 clinical instrument is capable of performing up to 40 immunoassays in areas of nutrition, tissues, hormones, and certain infections (HIV, Hepatitis). This product features self-monitoring that reduces carry-over and detects sample and reagent status. The system uses barcodes for labeling and organization purposes, processing 189 tests per hour. This easily accessible frame allows for quick-change and waste removal, without the need for additional plumbing or waterline hook-up.


Technical Review
New Life Scientific technicians supplied the instrument with fluid for the motors to engage without error codes; NLS does not stock the reagents and used distilled water to flush the system. The individual subsystems were tested for functionality and were confirmed to initialize and recognize commands. All motors 'homed,' and the status was 'ready' for assay completion.

There are components required for the VITROS that were not obtained when the product was acquired; the main wash bottle needs a lid and two waste bins were missing. There are sensors that recognized the waste bin absence and they were bypassed for testing purposes. (No printer included) For any medical equipment, the customer is strongly encouraged to follow any and all calibration/service recommendations made by the manufacturer before using the instrument.
