National Instruments PXI-2796 RF Multiplexer Switch Module
The National Instruments PXI-2796 (Part Number: 782356-01) is a 50 Ω, 40 GHz Dual 6x1 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module. This module offers an unterminated, high-density multiplexer, along with redundant 6x1 multiplexer banks in one module. The NI PXI-2796 is an ideal solution that offers high-order harmonics passing from signal upconverter modules or for the routing of various supplies to PXI RF Signal Downconverter modules. As far as its input characteristics are concerned, this RF Multiplexer Switch Module can handle 30 Vrms maximum voltage, 0.6 Arms maximum carry current (per channel), and 18 W maximum RF carry power (at 50 Ω load). The National Instruments NI PXI-2796 incurs <1.1 dB insertion loss, <2.2 voltage standing wave ratio, >45 dB open channel isolation, and 5 W RF carry power while operating at ≤40 GHz frequency.
This RF Multiplexer Switch Module comes equipped with non-latching electromechanical relays featuring a Beryllium copper, gold-plated contact material, 15 ms operate/release time, and 2 × 106 cycles for their expected mechanical life. The NI PXI-2796 features 14 SMA 2.9 jacks as I/O connectors. By design, this module is a 3U, two slot, PXI module. The physical dimensions are 21.6 cm × 4.1 cm × 13.0 cm. To receive and output trigger signals, this module utilizes PXI trigger lines <0...7>. As far as its power requirements are concerned, the NI PXI-2796 consumes 6 Watts of power, while operating at 12 V. The recommended cycle speed for this module is 5 channels/s.
