National Instruments cDAQ-9178 CompactDAQ Chassis
The National Instruments cDAQ-9178 is a CompactDAQ Chassis (Part Number: 781156-01) intended for little, versatile sensor estimation frameworks. The Chassis gives the plug and play simplicity of USB to sensor and electrical estimations. It also controls the timing, synchronization, and data transfer between C Series I/O modules and an external host. The user can utilize this frame with a mix of C Series I/O modules to make a blend of simple I/O, digital I/O, and counter/timer estimations. The device has an input FIFO size of 127 samples per slot, and has 8 slots. Also, the instrument’s maximum sample rate is determined by the C series module it is used with. The cDAQ-9178 additionally has four 32 bit universally useful counters/timers, which can be accessed by the user. The user can also share clocks and triggers through two implicit BNC connectors.
This model can be utilized to count edges, measure pulse widths, measure periods and frequencies, and perform position estimations (encoding). Also, the counter/timers can create pulses, pulse trains, and square waves with customizable frequencies. The user can access the counter sources of inputs and outputs by utilizing hardware-timed digital I/O modules installed in a maximum of two slots, or by utilizing the two frame PFI terminals.
For operation, the cDAQ-9178 may use the chassis trigger lines, a NI-9401 or a NI-9411 digital input module in any slot. The device operates using the NI-DAQmx software. The software supports a variety of Application Development Environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows™ /CVI™, C/C++, C#, and Visual Basic .NET. On installing the software, the user only needs to install support for the ADE of their choice. Configuration of the software can be carried out using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
To perform analog input estimations, it is possible to insert a supported analog input C Series I/O module into any space on the CompactDAQ Chassis. The estimation specifications, such as number of channels, channel setup, test rate, and gain are determined by the type of C Series I/O module utilized. The NI cDAQ-9178 has three AI timing motors, which implies that three analog input tasks can be running at once on a chassis. Additional specifications and information about the cDAQ-9178 can be found in the manuals and datasheets under the "Manuals & PDFs" tab.
