With a 4 GHz bandwidth and a 20 GS/s sample rate, the CSA7404 meets bandwidth requirements for 2.5 Gb/s measurements. Breakthrough features, such as an integrated optical/electrical (O/E) converter and a library of optical reference receiver (ORR) filters provide the frequency response necessary for compliance testing. This built-in combination eliminates the need to calibrate external O/E accessories. Broad spectral response allows users to address long- and short-wavelength applications without reconfiguration.

Two other standard features, clock recovery and a 32-bit serial trigger, are also integrated. Clock recovery extracts a clock from the serial data stream of the user, providing single-connection convenience while producing a robust eye pattern for compliance testing. The 32-bit serial trigger provides a powerful new tool for navigating through serial data streams and isolating pattern-dependent effects. The CSA7404 delivers unmatched versatility in compliance mask testing, allowing users to select from among optical and electrical standards, such as ANSI T1.102, ITU-T G.703, SDH/SONET, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, InfiniBand, USB, Serial ATA and IEEE 1394, at rates up to 2.5 Gb/s, without any hardware changes.
