The HP 8620A is an RF plug-in for the 8620A sweep oscillator mainframe. (It is also compatible with the 8620B/C and 8350 mainframes.) The plug-in consists of a fundamental oscillator in the 12.4 to 18 GHz range and of the drive circuitry that is required for tuning.

The 8620A can be remotely programmed via a rear panel connector.
