National Instruments PXI-5431 PXI Video Signal Generator
The NI PXI-5431 (Part Number: 777956-01) is a PXI Video Signal Generator that uses a 32-bit, high-speed accumulator with a lookup memory and a 12-bit DAC for DDS-based waveform generation. This model offers a Coordinate Digital Synthesis (DDS) Mode, which is a procedure for deriving, under computerized control, a simple frequency source from a solitary reference clock recurrence. This method delivers high-frequency precision and determination, temperature dependability, wideband tuning, and quick and phase continuous frequency exchanging. DDS mode can be used for standard capacity generation instead of subjective waveform generation. With this model, the user can characterize a staging list in DDS mode for performing frequency hops and sweeps. The whole arranging list utilizes a similar buffer loader into the query memory. All stages contrast in the frequency to be produced.
The SYNC output is a TTL form of the sine waveform created at the output. The signal from the pre-amplifier is sent to a comparator, where it is looked at against a level set by the level DAC. The output of this comparator is sent to the SYNC connector through a hysteresis buffer and a 50 Ω arrangement resistor to turn around end reflected pulses.
The NI PXI-5431 supports a DC offset of up to ±2.5 V before the attenuation chain. Unless the 10-dB attenuator is switched in, which happens when the gain is under 1.58 V or the amplitude is less than 3.16 Vpk-pk, the waveform maximum plus the offset must not surpass ±5 V into 50 Ω. If it does, the waveform is cut.
