National Instruments PXI-8195 PXI Controller
Featured with a 1.5 GHz Celeron M 370 Processor, 256 MB RAM, and 40 GB Internal hard drive, the National Instruments PXI-8195 (Part Numbers: 779910-00, 779910-01, 779910-33) is an Embedded Controller for use in PXI systems. The processor utilized in this model comes with the new Pentium M architecture that provides the highest possible mobile performance, while operating at clock rates lower than earlier Intel processors. By performance, the NI PXI-8195 is equivalent to that of a Pentium 4 system with 3.0 GHz clock rate. The device has a slot requirement of 1 system slot and 3 controller expansion slots.
This Embedded Controller also uses the Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset to provide maximum stability, flexibility, and performance. In addition, the 915GM Express chipset comes with the PCI Express bus which brings full-rate Gigabit Ethernet and ExpressCard interface.
As far as its peripheral’s profile is concerned, the National Instruments PXI-8195 has almost everything onboard, including: 10/100/1000 BaseTX Ethernet, a GPIB (IEEE 488.2) Interface, a Serial Port, a Parallel Port, USB 2.0 Ports, an ExpressCard/34 Slot, a Watchdog/Trigger SMB, and a PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse Connector. With this model, the user will be able to add another Gigabit Ethernet port or additional peripheral I/O, such as Bluetooth, IEEE 1394, 802.11 wireless LAN, and various other memory adaptors by utilizing the ExpressCard/34 slot.
The PXI 8195 is run using the NI-DAQmx driver software which is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio. The controller can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
The National Instruments PXI-8195 can boot from various sources, including: the internal IDE hard drive, a network PXE server (should be on the same subnet), an external SCSI hard drive, an external CD-ROM (through an SCSI adapter), and an external USB mass storage device (such as a CD-ROM or a USB hard drive). The NI device weighs 1.7 lb, and measures 3.2 x 5.1 x 8.5 in. in physical dimensions.
PXI-8195 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
