National Instruments cRIO-9024 CompactRIO Controller

The cRIO-9024 (Part number: 781174-01, 193965E-01L ) is a high-performance Controller by National Instruments. It can easily be installed on a chassis. The port has a primary Ethernet port to develop an Ethernet network by using a CAT-5 or better Ethernet cable. The Controller can directly link to the host computer if a network is not available. To prevent data loss, the cable length should be less than 100 meters. The cRIO NI 9024 has a secondary Ethernet port which can be used with measurement and automation explorer. A different IP address is required for this. 

The NI cRIO-9024 runs a power-on-self-test (POST). The status-LEDs and power turns on during the POST. The status LEDs turn off to indicate the POST completion. The Controller first boots into safe mode because no software installed initially. It attempts automatically to link the network by DHCP. It links to the network with a local IP address if DHCP is unavailable. The NI cRIO 9024 is featured with 800 MHz CPU and is structured with 512 MB DRAM. Furthermore, it has 4 GB nonvolatile storage memory.

The NI cRIO-9024 is embedded with an RS-232 DTE Serial Port. This port has a baud rate from 600 bps to 230400 bps. The data bit range is from 5 to 8. The parity range is from even, odd, space, space, and none. The port flow control includes DTR/DSR, RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF, and none. The NI cRIO-9024 is featured with a high-speed USB port. This model has a maximum transfer speed of 480 MB/s and a maximum power usage of 500 mA.
