National Instruments PXIe-5663 Vector Signal Analyzer
The NI PXIe-5663 (Part Numbers: 780415-01, 780415-02, 780414-01, 780414-02, 780413-01, and 780413-02) provides immediate bandwidth enhanced for automated test. This model is a combination of a high-performance PXI controllers and a high-speed PCI Express data bus. The PXIe-5663 can complete regular automated measurements much more swiftly than standard devices. This single-stage analyzer is well-suited for automated RF measurements when cabled to the device under test. The NI PXIe-5663 can complete swift, precise RF measurements in design confirmation and manufacturing test applications. The PXIe-5663 Vector Signal Analyzer is not one singular part, but is instead comprised of the PXIe-5601 RF Downconverter Module, the PXIe-5622 PXI IF Digitizer, and the PXIe-5652 PXI RF Analog Signal Generator. The device has a frequency range of 10 MHz to 6.6 GHz.
With the NI PXIe-5663, the user can implement software-defined measurements in LabVIEW. The result is the user completing standard spectral and modulation measurements as much as 30 times faster than similar devices. Standard spectrum analysis measurements can additionally be completed fast because of the processing power of multicore CPUs. As an example, the user can accomplish a 50 MHz spectrum sweep in 6 ms with a PXIe-8106 Embedded Controller. For spans smaller than 50 MHz, the spectrum sweep time is separate from the center frequency the user designates. The user can also complete standard-specific modulation and spectral measurements much more quickly when compared to regular RF spectrum analyzers.
The NI-RFSA driver software is required for the operation of the PXIe-5663. However, an Application Development Environment is required to carry out the driver software installation-any of LabVIEW or LabWindow/CVI would suffices. The device has a variety of connectors-the RF OUT, LO IN, CLK IN, REF IN/OUT, OUT connectors. The PXIe-5663 has a warm-up time of 30 minutes, and has an operational temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C.
Another unique combination is the PXIe-5663 with a PXI RF Vector Signal Generator, which results in the capability to be used for record and playback applications. The NI PXIe-5663 can record an RF signal unceasingly as a file on a redundant array of affordable disks volume. Then, the user can utilize an RF Vector Signal Generator to stream the recorded waveform from disk.
